So as I’ve said before, in my line work I spend ridiculous (but joyous) amounts of time sourcing products. Whilst it’s not unusual to come across many drool worthy pieces and products, occasionally I come across something that for whatever reason must be shared. Bemz has been on my radar for a while now and I felt that it was only fair to spread the word about this very clever concept.
If you’re not familiar with this Scandinavian design company, they have been around since 2005 and make covers to fit the most popular models of IKEA sofas, armchairs and chairs. We all have mixed feelings about the Swedish behemoth but love it or loathe it, you cannot ignore it. I strongly believe that even in the most sophisticated of homes there is usually a place some for cleverly positioned IKEA.
But back to Bemz. All products are sold online to 42 countries around the world, including Australia. There are hundreds of fabric choices (including some from famous designers) and all are made form 100% natural materials. Another thing to love about Bemz is that they are all about sustainability and minimum waste. Your goodies may take up to four weeks to arrive but that’s because every piece is sewn to order. All products are machine washable, come with a three year guarantee, and have a two week refund period. You can also order free samples of the fabrics so no nasty surprises.
For me it’s about being able to customise products at a seriously affordable price point. If you follow me you’ll know that I get the design itch to chop and change my decor on a regular basis so Bemz suits me perfectly. Not to mention that the array of fabrics is dizzying. I often recommend Bemz to breathe new life into a high traffic area of a family home such as a rumpus or media room. Seriously, what’s not to love? If you want to customise or extend the life of an IKEA piece get stuck into Bemz.
