Master Bedroom Reveal

When my clients approached me to design their master bedroom as well as bedrooms for their two young boys, it was important to me to create something that was new and fresh but that was in line with the rest of their home. The brief was high end luxury incorporating timeless, elegant pieces.

My first decision was creating the concept and colour palette. I went for a slightly Hamptons feel but with a sophisticated edge incorporating a neutral palette. I absolutely love using soft colours and creating interest with different tones and textures. We locked down the biggest decision and investment piece early on, which was the bedhead and bench seating. We opted for a Hamptons style in a natural linen fabric with brushed bronze studs, bringing in that luxe feel, co-ordinating the fabric on the bench seat for a cohesion and longevity.

Once this had been selected we focussed on the colour palette where in which we utilised soft, warm grey tones but kept it crisp with white trims, bedside tables and soft white linen. We then layered up the bed with beautiful cushions and throws. We opted for a luxurious wool carpet for comfort underfoot and a high end feel. The whole room is pulled together with a statement rug. You don’t always need a rug when you have carpet in a bedroom but it can be advantageous in adding that extra ingredient.

One of my favourite features is the show stopping pendant light! It is from one of my favourite suppliers and is in a brushed antique finish, which is so stunning and understated. We created a reading corner with a large, comfy armchair and added artwork for colour and interest, as well as above the bed.

My clients were thrilled with the end result and now have a timeless bedroom that they adore. The only changes they will need to make is if they ever feel like mixing up the bedding for a bit of a refresh. Seeing my clients loving their homes is what lights me up about what I do!
